Techniques

Internet video is created with digital video recording equipment. So either video cameras or even just digital cameras (or phones) with video recording capabilities. (A less popular technique is digitizing analog video through a conversion process and using that.) The raw video files are then either edited on a computer or are just left with no frills. Editing can range from low to high production-value depending on the purpose of the video.

The content can vary from fleshed-out, written productions to seemingly random slices of life. Again, the purpose of the video dictates the quality of content. You can see anything from professional and technically superb videos to three-second clips of peoples faces.
